Need a culminating showcase of student learning? Learn about the possibilities of Google Sites. Pedagogical methods will be explored with samples from a Freshman Seminar course and a Fashion & Interiors course. Attendees will spend a major portion of the session creating their own portfolio to ultimately share with the group. This hands-on session will allow attendees to immerse themselves into the program and create lessons that will fit the needs of their own classrooms/students. Portfolios are an ideal way for students to have voice, a global audience (if applicable), and ownership of their learning. These methods are easily transferable to a variety of content areas, as well as all age and skill levels, depending on technology available to students and teachers. Sample lessons and student work will be shown to illustrate the usage of such projects. Attendees will leave with new ways to utilize portfolios in their instruction. Recommendations on ease-of-use and trial-and-error anecdotes will be presented along with the content.
